Personal Trainer Education Ignites Success

What is the difference between a good fitness trainer and a great one? Continuing personal trainer education is all that is required.

After reading a book and passing an exam, an average or below-average personal fitness trainer doesn’t do much else to advance their fitness knowledge. When it comes to working with clients, many trainers rely solely on their own experience.

On the other hand, the most successful personal trainers are consistently investing both time and money in training. This is the only thing that separates the successful from the unsuccessful.

Many effective fitness professionals who seem to know everything about exercise physiology actually spend the majority of their time on personal trainer continuing education. This may come as a surprise to you.

It’s critical to keep up with the latest research, which is published every month. To stay on top of things, read a few journals and occasionally enrol in a fitness trainer course.

Besides learning about the anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics of the human body, the most successful personal trainers dedicate time to understanding about the business of personal training. Every month, you should also be receiving business, marketing, and human influence-focused personal trainer education. The ability to influence or compel your customers is a vital skill to master.
Here’s what I recommend you do if you want to join the ranks of personal trainers who earn a lot of money.

Aim to devote at least 30 minutes a day to continuing education, including business and human behaviour, on a regular basis.

The ACSM Journal and the NSCA Journal are two good places to start.

The more you learn about the importance of investing in your personal trainer education, the more determined you’ll be to follow through. If you do this again and over again, you will soon go from being an ordinary coach to a big success.
