They praise principals who are instructional leaders and encourage teachers to participate in professional development and become involved in the school community. Teacher observations were only criticised because of the lack of observations and because the principal was too gentle in his criticism, which limited the observations’ usefulness.
Discipline support from principals was also a significant contributor to overall job satisfaction, according to a study. Inevitably, the principal is called in to deal with situations involving student discipline, some of which involve parents. When the principal publicly endorsed their decisions, new teachers were both gratified and surprised.
